I wouldn't need any firearms if the U.S. wasn't turning into one giant failed state. Then again, there's quite a few countries with unsustainable debt loads and unfunded liabilities in Europe as well.
You must live in Detroit then. And I love immigrants. The local area where I live has seen a huge influx of oriental and mexicans moving in and its been a solid positive influance on local buisiness. Lots of jobs that were going unfilled due to the plethora of lazy jobless console kids regardless of age are now being filled with hardworking people who think that only having to work a 40 hour week but get paid like they worked for 6 months straight in their original country of origin is zomg ftw. Plus all those mexican and oriental chicks are pretty damn hot. Also the earlier comment about our diversity rings true as you can't point to any group and say that they represent america. Sure we have alot of vocal gun owners but they certainly are not the majority. That we have hundreds of millions of gun owners is simply because its allowed and encouraged. I seriously doubt even a minute fraction of them have actually shot the things and have them tucked away in a case to pull out and show off to the guys on occasion.
Wait until you get to the real world, this country has gone to crap. You're obviously very young, it has been getting worse since the 70s. There are no real jobs anymore, service jobs are garbage. Nonsensical post-1965 immigration has been a disaster, there are indeed limits to growth. There can never be infinite growth on a finite planet or in a country. Those limits are much closer than you'd like to think, they won't be recognized on the eve-online forums though because it's full of cornucopian futurists who are sad Arthur C. Clarke's world never came to fruition. The world post peak/plateau in oil extraction will be much different. You will not be driving a hydrogen fueled car to a wind powered Starbucks come 2050.
You don't have hundreds of millions of gun owners, you have maybe 60 million but people like me with ten firearms who have been watching the slow motion collapse of the U.S.
I SEE YOU!
